Mamma gave me the diamond of all love,

mamma said to me now you go out and you be someone,

but if you don’t come back looking like me,

then you ain’t my son.

How do you insist that we all must be judged by the color of our skin,

and look who you enlist those apples don’t rot far from their trees,

we’ve been raised so well, we believe it comes naturally.

Why can’t you see what is not right in front of your face,

and look whose image and what’s more put black and white,

I thought not to judge,

if they don’t act like you, speak like you, dress like you, fuck like you, pray like you.

Mamma said to me I just want you to be happy,

and mamma left me in tears,

I won’t be coming home with your kind,

don’t leave the lights for me.
