Reviews
"....Andy Guthrie est un jeune virtuose du jazz venu de New-York. Il était de passage à Lyon, une ville qu’il connait bien, pour une série de concerts. Aussi à l’aise au piano qu’à la guitare, c’est seul sur scène qu’Andy nous fait la démonstration de son talent à travers les chansons de son album "Milk and Waste". Nous l’avons rencontré lors de son concert au Hot Club."
“….gorgeous, beautifully produced album…. simply amazing.” Robin Hilton, Producer NPR All Songs Considered
“….remarkable voice….a brightly textured collection of jazzy pop tunes with wonderful harmonies and instrumentation.”
“…. Andy Guthrie transcends the traditional singer/songwriter mold.” David Dye, Producer World Cafe WXPN-FM
“….Andy Guthrie’s got such a unique sound, far and away from the cookie cutter style that many singer/songwriters fall into.” Tim Schaefer, Music Director WKZE-FM
“….A lulling journey through soundscapes and poetry. A gorgeous offering from a bright, young talent.” Nikki Dakota, Music Director WYSO-FM
“….A whispery cabaret-rock vocal aesthetic is a highlight of Andy's performance and on the best songs the listener can really take flight within his voice. Soft, emotive melodies guide his lyrics through the travails of family anguish, love, and hope. On top of that his jazzy style is a refreshing genre-twist for the New York City songwriter scene.” Gabriel Levitt, President Jezebel Music
"….Andy has played strong sets for the last couple years with Jezebel, but last Wednesday really stood out. There’s no disputing Andy’s professionalism: hypnotizing guitar and keyboard orchestrations combined with breathy, moody, and mysterious vocals (as in you feel the vocals), and unique lyrical phrasing, all played with skill and poise." Gabriel Levitt, President Jezebel Music
